Morgan A. McLaughlin McFarland is an Atlanta-based writer, editor, teacher, and apocalypse enthusiast. She teaches writing and popular media classes to middle and high school students, specializing in horror, apocalyptic/dystopian media, LGBTQ+ content, and academic approaches to fandom. She also provides mentored social spaces for tweens and teens to safely explore fandom cultures. Morgan recently retired after 9 years as a Tag Wrangler for the Archive of Our Own, though she still teaches students how to use and navigate the Archive. Morgan and her husband own Salt Circle Games, publisher of the contemporary investigative horror tabletop roleplaying game, Chill 3rd Edition. Her writing and editing credits include games from publishers like White Wolf and Onyx Path, academic publications, fandom zines, and nonfiction articles and essays.
